Building and Leading Teams
OVERVIEW:
This
is the team-building program for high
performance organisations-team building
from a strategic perspective. This "strategic
planning" program will teach your
teams how to identify their key results
and challenges (KRC), and then use these
skills to stay focused, align individual
& team goals with organisational objectives,
identify measures for the team's success,
and identify strategic learning opportunities.
This workshop not only functions as a
team building exercise, but also teaches
participants how to build and lead teams.
Our program also provides your teams with
a simple, elegant, and comprehensive tool
for performance management (see attached
template). Moreover, this program contributes
to leadership development by teaching
participants how to help individual employees
and teams understand their own roles in
the context of your organisation's vision
& strategy. Our unique "Key Results
and Challenges" (KRC) approach is
clearly the first and fundamental step
in team building: creating focus, clarifying
priorities, and generating alignment.
WHO
SHOULD ATTEND:
This
program is available as a 1-day workshop
for teams, or a 3-day train-the-trainer
program for your organisation's training
& development, organisational development,
or leadership development team.
PROGRAM
CONTENT:
Beginning
with a discussion of the big picture-your
organisation's mission, vision, and strategy-a
KRC team building session then helps a
team identify:
- What
role the team plays in helping the organisation
achieve its vision and strategy
- The
team's key results and challenges, i.e.,
the most important results the team
is accountable for achieving and the
biggest challenges it will face in trying
to achieve those results
- Key
measure of success for the team
- Projects-present
and future-that will help the team achieve
its key results and conquer its biggest
challenges
- Using
KRC for team performance management
At
the end of the session, each team will
have created a "mission critical
action plan" (if the session is attended
by managers rather than teams, the managers
will learn how to create this template
with their teams):
